Google TV-Google officially announced the Google TV Project
On May 20, 2010, Google officially announced the Google TV Project at the Google I/O conference in San Francisco, USA.
What is Google TV?
Google TV is a search technology that will provide an easy and fast way to navigate to television channels, websites and applications, all on televisions.
The Google TV device will include Google software including Android and Chrome Web browsers, a Sony television with an Intel microprocessor and a special remote control and wireless keyboard from Logitech.
In technical terms, Google TV is a software platform for Set Top Boxes and HDTVs and is based upon Android Operating System.
Who are co-partners?
The project is being co developed by Google, Intel, Sony and Logitech. Intel, Sony and Logitech together with Best Buy, Dish Network and Adobe have announced their support for Google TV.
