DK Sikri The former Gujarat cadre IAS officer, Devender Kumar Sikri has been appointed as the new chairman of Competition Commission of India (CCI). He succeeded Ashok Chawla.
Main Objectives :
The main objective of CCI is to make market work for the benefit and welfare of consumers and also prevent activities that have adverse effect on competition in India.

The other  objective of the internship at Competition Commission of India is to familiarize students from Law, Economics, Management and Finance backgrounds with the Competition Law and its application in various sectors. The internship applications need to be submitted at least 3 months in advance. So start sending your entries for winter internships now – hurry!

About the internship: – The interns will primarily be required to write a dissertation on competition related themes/issues arising out of the Competition Act, 2002. The intern may be required to make a presentation before the Commission at the end of internship, after clearance by the respective Guide.

Number of internships: – 8

Who can apply: – The internship training is open only to students who are from recognized institutions and universities and have prior exposure of competition law or competition economics. Preference will be given to those pursuing their studies from premier institutions. The students with placement in hand are not eligible.

Location: – New Delhi

Duration: – 1 month

Stipend: – Rs. 8,000/- per month
