Pune-Mumbai Hyperloop -The Hyperloop project in India preliminary agreement signed

The Owner of Virgin Group, Richard Branson signed a preliminary agreement on Sunday in Mumbai to develop Hyperloop framework.

A demonstration track is scheduled to be built in two to three years from the signing of the final agreement. The second phase of the project will give shape to the Pune-Mumbai Hyperloop route in five to seven years. The super-fast transport system will carry the passengers at speeds of 1080 km per hours and minimize the travel time between the two cities to just 13 minutes.

What is Hyperloop?

Hyperloop is the tube based transportation system which can reach a theoretical speed of 760 miles an hour. The passengers are carried in a pod which travels at super-speeds in low-pressure tube. Virgin Hyperloop One is working on developing a working Hyperloop system by 2021. The company tested its first 500 m prototype track in the Nevada desert.
